It is interesting that there is only one major sponsor, do you know how much KIA pays to sponsor this event?
ReplyDeleteKIA has been partnering with Australian Open since 2002. It’s worth up to $50 million and other contributions, like, a fleet of 101 loan vehicles during the tournament. The deal extends to 2018.
DeleteDon't you think this is the less important of the four Grand Slams?. If i had to choose this would be my last choice and i think players think the same no i am not sure if it should be maintained as a Grand Slam because there is already one in Hard (US Open) so nothing makes it special.
ReplyDeleteAustralian Open is officially part of the Grand Slams. But as you said, the US Open is the most important one. US Open is the largest annually attended sporting event in the world, this makes it more important for players.
DeleteI made the experience that the single turnaments are much more present in the TV and other media. Am I wrong or do you know a reason why it is like this? Maybe because in the Singles are more stars but I am not sure
